Mr. Malachi Hernandez

Mr. Hernandez was born in Santa Clara, CA.  He started his professional musical career as a Composer while attending Cabrillo College in 2000.  He soon began teaching and performing as an independent musician in the Bay Area.  Mr. Hernandez has been an independent music consultant for K-12 public, private, and Charter schools.  His work has supported afterschool music programs in the Bay Area and Central Valley.  He currently lives and teaches in Turlock, CA.  Mr. Hernandez maintains a regular list of private students and has weekly performances.  His main instrument is guitar, and he personally favors classical music.

He has studied guitar with Ken Andrade, David Lamar, Ron Dunn, and Ron Jackson.  He studied Theory and Harmony with Dr. Paul Setziol.  His chorus and voice studies with Dr. Ilan Glasman.  Mr. Hernandez obtained an AA in Music from De Anza College in 2015.  He studied music education at San Jose State University and Composition at The Berklee School of Music.  Always interested in learning, Mr. Hernandez is currently obtaining a BA in Philosophy at Stanislaus State University.

Mr. Hernandez is passionate about music, and being a positive role model in his community.  When he is not teaching or performing he enjoys reading, learning new languages, watching movies, playing basketball, and spending time with his family.
